Njoum Ellil - نجوم الليل
In 1927, Tunisian poet Abou el Kacem Chebbi wrote, in Fi Soukoun Ellayl ("In the Silence of the Night"), a string of questions thrown at the darkness. What does tomorrow hold? Does the night carry peace or war, light or shadow? A century later, Pandhora and Selima Terras pick up that thread and give it an answer.
Njoum Ellil opens on the same night as Chebbi's: a sun that has set far away, a darkness settling in. But where the poem questions, the song answers: the night stars sing in my sky; my sun sets, and the moon lends its light. Trust isn't about ignoring the dark. It's knowing another light eventually takes over.
Selima Terras’ voice, unmistakably her own, connects Chebbi’s century-old questions to Pandhora’s world. Njoum Ellil brings those questions into the present, becoming part of an ongoing Tunisian conversation about the future.
